1. Overview
Appointment.ink is a booking platform for tattoo artists and their clients. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. Artists using the platform act as independent businesses; the information they collect about their own clients is also governed by their own practices, and you should direct questions about a specific booking to your artist.
2. Information we collect
- Contact details — name, email and phone number you provide in inquiries, consultations, bookings and deposits.
- Project details — your tattoo idea, placement, size, budget, timeline and reference images you upload.
- Booking details — appointment types, dates and times you select, and your rescheduling history.
- Waiver information — legal name, date of birth, address, emergency contact, health disclosures (allergies, skin conditions, medications, pregnancy status), acknowledgments, and your drawn signature. This is sensitive information collected on behalf of your artist so they can tattoo you safely and meet legal requirements.
- Payment information — deposit and payment amounts, status and transaction references. Card details are processed by our payment processor and are never stored on our servers.
- Marketing & usage data — pages viewed, referring URL, UTM campaign parameters, advertising click IDs (such as Meta's fbclid), and approximate device/browser information.
- Technical data — IP address and timestamps when you sign a waiver or complete a booking, used as part of the signature record and for security.
3. How we use it
- to operate booking, scheduling, deposit and waiver workflows;
- to send confirmations, reminders, aftercare and review messages by email (and SMS where the artist has enabled it);
- to show artists their pipeline, calendar, clients and funnel performance;
- to measure advertising effectiveness (e.g. which campaign led to a booking);
- to prevent fraud, double-bookings and abuse, and to keep the service secure;
- to improve the product.
4. Advertising and analytics
Artists may install a Meta Pixel or Google Analytics ID on their pages. These tools collect events such as page views, inquiries (Lead), consultation bookings (Schedule) and deposit checkouts (InitiateCheckout, Purchase), along with campaign parameters, and share them with the respective advertising platforms under their own privacy policies. You can limit this tracking with browser settings, ad-blockers or your ad platform preferences.
5. Who we share it with
- Your artist — everything you submit through their pages, including waiver answers, is visible to them.
- Service providers — hosting, database, email delivery, payment processing and analytics providers who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
- Advertising platforms — where an artist has enabled a tracking pixel, as described above.
- Legal — where required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of users and the public.
We do not sell your personal information.
6. Retention
We keep booking, client and waiver records for as long as the artist's account is active and as needed for legal and dispute purposes — signed waivers in particular may be retained for years because they form part of the artist's legal record. Marketing attribution data is retained for a shorter period.
7. Security
Data is stored encrypted at rest and transmitted over TLS. Access to artist data is restricted by row-level access controls so each artist can only see their own records. Booking and waiver links use long random tokens; treat them as private and don't forward them to others. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, and to object to certain processing. For data related to a specific artist or booking, contact that artist first. For anything else, email hello@appointment.ink and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe. Deleting a signed waiver may not be possible where the artist is legally required to retain it.
9. Children
The service is not directed at anyone under 18, and tattoo services themselves are age-restricted in most jurisdictions. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time and will post the revised version here with a new date. Continued use of the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
